Security at TradeTrust

Our entire purpose is to protect Nigerian buyers from online payment scams. Here is exactly how we keep your money and data safe.

Encrypted in transit

Every connection to TradeTrust uses TLS 1.2+ encryption. Your payment data is never sent over plain HTTP.

Funds in escrow

Buyer payments are held in a protected state and only released to the seller after the buyer confirms delivery or 7 days pass.

2-Factor authentication

Seller accounts require TOTP-based 2FA (Google Authenticator or Authy) to prevent unauthorised access.

Verified checkout domain

All TradeTrust checkout pages are served from checkout.tradetrust.ng or tradetrust.ng — never a third-party domain.

TradeTrust will NEVER ask you to:

  • Share your WhatsApp verification code or OTP
  • Scan a WhatsApp QR code to complete a payment
  • Enter your bank PIN, card PIN, or internet banking password
  • Download an APK, app, or software to pay
  • Pay on any link that is not hosted on checkout.tradetrust.ng
  • Send payment directly to a phone number or bank account before an order is created

How to verify a TradeTrust checkout link

  1. 1

The link must start with https://checkout.tradetrust.ng/pay/ — anything else is a scam.

  2. 2

Look for the padlock icon in your browser address bar, confirming the TLS certificate is valid.

  3. 3

The seller's name and product details must match exactly what the seller told you.

  4. 4

Use our Verify Link tool to check any suspicious link before you pay.
